This unit is exactly as shown in the picture. It is very well finished, and worked like a charm on my old LG Flatron L224WS monitor which has only VGA port. This fits nicely on the monitor itself, avoding additional mess in the wiring. It accepts the HDMI signal and runs the monotor at its peak resolution.

Not a good product used it on my monitor and the screen keeps blinking/ very cheaply made I would not recommend this item / the aux sounds doesn’t work as well

Purchased this adapter to use my Sony Bravia tv as a monitor for my pc. It works greats but issues with product quality and durability arose after making adjustments to the tv that put slight pressure upon the adapter which caused the housing to pop off. Easy to put back together since it is a plastic casing but repeated stress from the tv/hdmi cables being adjusted will cause it happen again and for the adapter to no longer function. Customer service will replace the adapter while under warranty but be careful with installation locations so not to place undue stress/pressure upon the adapter.

Great adapter to split the audio from HDMI on my Epson projector. I tried HDMI to HDMI splitters and they did not work. This HDMI to VGA worked great. I cant comment on the sound quality as im not an audiophile, but it did the job for well for a backyard movie night.
The housing was just press fit together without any solvent bonds. I plan to simply glue it back together and carry on.
