I bought this USB to HDMI converter for my Sony TV with only 2 HDMI ports. I connected it to USB port of TV and the HDMI female end with HDMI male input signal from set top box. But this did not work. Very pricey cable came out to be a dud

Linux doesn’t have a DisplayLink driver that works for most distributions, so it’s very unlikely this would work on your Linux.

I purchased this product 6 month back its working fabulously and allow me to use extended monitor via USB port.
When i face some technical issue support team was very helpful to resolve the issue.
Happy to suggest this product if you have mac and only one display is supported via dp port then this is the go to solution to add second extended display.

Avevo bisogno di collegare un vecchio laptop Lenovo (con solo l’uscita VGA RGB monitor) al mio TV HDMI in modo da eliminare il vecchio monitor e vedere tutto sulla TV. Ho trovato questo adattatore su Amazon che mi ha risolto il problema. Lo alimento da una presa USB del laptop (ma avrei potuto collegarlo a un alimentatore USB esterno), e funziona benissimo. Ovviamente nella presa VGA non c’è audio e i video sono muti. Ma il bello di questo dispositivo è che ha anche un ingresso audio analogico opzionale che si collega alla presa jack cuffie analogica del PC o laptop. Così lo ho collegato usando il cavo fornito, e funziona perfettamente. Ora sul TV HDMI è possibile avere il video e ascoltare anche l’audio del laptop. Il dispositivo ha un ottimo convertitore di segnale video, e passa correttamente la risoluzione video nel segnale HDMI, così il TV può selezionare la risoluzione adeguata in base a quella del PC, per esempio andando in 1080p.
L’unica pecca è l’audio un po’ rumoroso, ma quello esce così dall’uscita analogica del laptop; mi sono abituato troppo al silenzio delle schede solo digitali.

Great product for the price.. Wanted to add another display to my current dual monitor setup using Dell Wd19tb. Using this product I’m still able to get a single cable solution while achieving triple monitor (extended mode) with my MacBook Pro. I also also keep my macbook in clamshell mode with no problem.

Good product. Working properly. The extended screen resolution is Full HD. Bare minimum heating even after 9 hours of continuous use. Easy to connect.
I wanted to extend 2 screens from my laptop. It had a normal type c port (for data transfer only) which is why most docking stations were not useful. Tried to find USB type A to HDMI locally but they were hard to find and the ones I got didn’t work. This product was a really great find. Been using for over a week as of now. No issues so far.

Das Produkt wurde wie beschrieben geliefert und funktioniert einwandfrei. Keine Installation notwendig: plug&play. Großer Pluspunkt: Am PC-Ende sind alle drei Teil-Kabel für Bild (VGA), Ton (Klinke) und Strom ( USB) mehr als lang genug, um sie in die jeweiligen Buchsen zu stecken, auch wenn sich diese an verschiedenen Seiten des Laptops befinden.
