The Kioxia Exceria PLUS G3 NVMe SSDm performs above average measured by today’s standards of gen4 ssd. However is plenty fast for most use cases and generic workloads. You’d ever notice it in a real-world usage scenario. Currently the prices which I feel decent in terms of performance, the Exceria PLUS G3 is positioned among the high-end PCIe Gen3 and mainstream Gen4 drives. Its performance varies based on factors like workload. As a PCIe Gen 4 drive, it utilizes TLC flash memory, providing a cost-effective alternative to similar products. The drive exhibits decent sequential performance, with some test perform by ”some expert” showing write speeds in the 4000-5000/s range ”as available online”. Its 4K random read/write performance at small queue depths is relatively modest, yet it achieves high-end NVMe performance for specific workloads. Temp. can reach around 70C. Kioxia offers a five-year warranty or up to the 1200 TBW (Total Bytes Written) limit for the 2TB model, whichever comes first. The SSD is available in 1TB, and 2TB capacities.

The Kioxia Exceria PLUS G3, equipped with the Phison PS5021-E21T controller, SLC cache, no DRAM cache exhibits modest performance across various benchmarks. This is a budget SSD which manages to perform good enough for the most common use cases and workloads. In my words its ”write speed” is 60% as compared to WD black 850X 87% , crucial T500 85% , KC 3000 83% and very good ”read speed” is if 100% of Kioxia Exceria PLUS G3 then 87%, 87.5% and 72% respectively for them.

This SSD however uses TLC written NAND. A 1TB model has 600 TB written capacity, the 2TB model has 1200 TB written capacity for endurance.

It can be compared with similar performance with the WD SN750 Overall though, it’s a decent enough NVMe SSD. People will know more about the KIOXIA brand with their range of flash storage products, and that they will build a reputation for themselves with this new name.

Have purchased 2 * m.2 ssd’s from this brand (this was my second nvme purchase) and I hope they last in the long run.
Package arrived in time and was sealed. Inside the box brand new ssd and without any damage or defects. Installed on ps5 – as per the initial test transfer speed was recorded as 4800 MBps and compatible. 225 GBs was transferred in 1:50 mins which is really good speed. On touch, thermals look normal and dosent seem like it’s over heating during data transfer. All in all very satisfied with this brand….for now!!

It’s working like amazing my laptop only has gen 3 support. 3500 real and 3100 write. Far better than the other kioxia SSD it had from factory. Usual temp is around 50 degrees without any heatsink in laptop. Windows loads up a little faster now. No drivers needed at the time of setup it was plug and play. 3-4 times faced 1 second freeze after installation of windows but now it never freeze it’s perfectly fine. SSD health was 100 and shows up in the software.
