Arjun –
The Cosmic Byte Firefly is a very good keyboard indeed.
Pros-
*Build quality- It is a very solid and well built device with the top part in steel and the bottom part in plastic. It is pretty heavy but it is a mechanical keyboard so no surprises there.
*Accuracy- The keyboard is very accurate for typing.
*RGB-RGB is definitely very good. It has a selection of many single colors and mixed ones too.
*Hot-swappable keys- The keyboard has hot swappable keys which means that the switch itself can be replaced with other Outemu switches. I’m not sure if other brands switches can be used.
Cons-
*Typing sound- If you are going to buy this keyboard and type a lot, do not buy the blue switch version. I really underestimated the sounds of the blue switch. It sounds like an actual typewriter. It is pretty much annoying as it is making too much noise. The red switch version can be better if you type a lot as it is more quiet. Also, other people may find it disturbing. So buy blue switches only if you have a separate room.
*Dedicated Caps lock indicator-It actually does Caps lock and scroll lock indicators in the keys itself, but it is not visible if the RGB color is white as the indicator colors are also white which can be confusing. So I would suggest Cosmic Byte to put dedicated Caps lock and Scroll lock indicators.
*Portability- The keyboard is huge and heavy which makes it pretty hard to carry it around.
The packaging they sent the keyboard in was very good. It came in a cardboard box inside a sealed bag.
Overall a very good keyboard for 2000-2500₹.

I got the keyboard today and I have been using this for an hour so I am gonna share my first impressions.
* First of all the package was completely messed up like when I received the box, I could hear the switches clicking
and the box was torn and crushed so I wasn’t happy about it and with a lot of concern I open the box and the
the keyboard was fine and it was at that moment I knew this keyboard is actually built really well.
* The software seems to be made by a developer who was high so I am gonna pretend that this doesn’t have a
software, but there is a possibility to make a new one which could enhance the overall product experience
significantly.
* Keycaps looks cheap like really cheap its mostly because of the font but typing with it isn’t that bad it doesn’t
feel that cheap.
* This is really worth the price but do buy it when it’s on offer.
After 2 days of use:
* I am really happy like seriously this was worth every penny.
* Gamers who are new to the mechanical keyboard will have discomfort at the beginning because of the key travel and the key positions being different from the normal keyboard.
* RGB is actually much better than I anticipated. The software is not much buggy after I installed the firmware update. I do recommend using the software because it gives you additional features like macros and a few more RGB. Also, if you need the RGB to be static you have to use the software to set it.
* Not a big fan of branding on the top of the keyboard like it’s annoying.
* The keycaps can be easily be replaced with custom keycaps and I do recommend it because it will seriously enhance the experience a lot.
* I really wished the “FN: function key” to be on the left side of the spacebar, near the windows key which is a much better place to place it.
* Typing experience is really good. I didn’t see any huge change in my typing speed like before I used to get 88 WPM now it changed to 89 which isn’t that big of a change but honestly, I still haven’t gotten used to the keyboard so maybe I will improve.
* two things I hate about the product. 1: The default keycaps. 2: The USB is a bit loose from the port so in time it can get more loose but my pc still recognizes it so I am not too mad.

1) Pls note that the packaging of the product is significantly improved and it no more comes with a bad packaging (which was the case in 2020!). The product I recieved was in a neat and sturdy packaging. It was nicely covered with a box that had zero damage and the box was also contained in a bigger container(double box protection! Rest assured about the packaging, it was an issue in the past.
2) If you are coming from a membrane keyboard then the quality or build of the keyboard will definitely be a premium one for you. It has got quite a weight to it and hence feels quite a good built. But the braided cable feels a bit cheaper COMPARED TO OTHER BRAIDED CABLES. It is still good compared to normal rubber cables.
3) The keys are simply awesome. You will definitely get obsessed by typing on this keyboard. It simply feels great to type on it. The keys are quite loud and fully give the mechanical keyboard wala vibe that you need. I got so customed to this board that when i returned to my laptop keyboard it felt like its keys were inaudible(not kidding!).
4) Though rgb was not my first priority while buying this board…. but it too is just simply great! The colors are surprisingly vibrant and bright enough for most of us users. There are enough modes that one might need and you can even change the brightness of the rgb. If you need any more custom modes (if you are that much of a psycho xD) you can get it done through the CB software that the keyboard supports!
5) As mentioned RGB was not my first priority. I needed a compact ten key less mechanical keyboard which i needed for my college work and mostly for CODING! And ………. i am in love with this keyboard. The form factor is really very compact and it does not take much space from my desk and i can keep my board and write on my notebooks at the same time without any difficulty (which was one with my previous keyboard. I always needed to switch my keyboard and notebook from the desk very often and it irritated me alot).
6) One thing that i encountered was that my typing speed reduced while typing on this keyboard. I also made more errors while coding using this. I tend to mispress quite often and this is due to some anti ghosting keys that this board has. But its not quite that big of an issue and I will get accustomed to it with time imo!
So, my final thoughts for buying the board would be that – if its your first mechanical keyboard …. JUST GO FOR IT. You wont be disappointed by the product. And if its not your first then too you wont notice any significant issues with the board and it will be just simply great for most of us!
