The product is awesome for this price but there’s a catch. I’ve brought the GK-18 and I don’t know whether this problem is exclusive to this particular product, anyway let me say that the quality control or quality checking is bad, I mean really bad, I had to replace or reorder the product 4 times to get the desired results. At first, the spacebar was crooked and one side of it was really stiff and it was not at all straight or parallel with the horizontal, it was higher on one side (the side which was stiff) and lower on the other, So I’ve decided to request for a replacement and the second replacement arrived with more features, they put keycaps which had purple shine-through cut-out instead of the white or transparent one and it looked really bad, the light was really uneven and the etching was really bad that they looked they melted during the etching. I think amazon only allows return after two replacements so I had to return the keyboard and buy the keyboard again because there weren’t any issues with the switches or the functionality of the keyboard and 3rd replacement arrived, Guess what there were issues with some of the switches, Yep Some of the switches made springy ting noise when bottomed out and felt really scratchy so I’ve sent a mail with a video regarding this issue and they told me that the sound is common throughout all the keyboards, So again I’ve decided to request for another replacement and the one I have right now is perfect with no purple tint, no scratchiness on the switch or no crooked keys. So yeah, Finally my soul is content.

Conclusion: The keyboard is awesome. For this price, you won’t get anything much better than this but it all depends upon your luck. Either you will get a keyboard with no defects or you know… [Life itself is a gamble} You might need to lube the stabilizers in order to minimize the rattle from the bigger keys but at this price that is not even an issue. So if your budget is under 2.5k and you want a mechanical keyboard just go for it.

My first mechanical keyboard, after researching quite some time i choosed this one, mk1000, wnd other keyboard are bad.

Red switch are quite in sound being mechanical switches. Even in my office, they don’t bother other people. One thing is worrying is the wobbling of enter, shift, space bar key. Overall awesome purchase, go for it guys. It is tkl, small, precise, sturdy, and cute to use

Update after using for 1 month, some key like shift and cntrl have become bad, it doesn’t register keystrokes sometimes. When those keys are working then it’s great but sometimes they give problem and headache as i have to alter between and use other shift key to register keystroke. I will contact customer care of cosmicbyte and share response here

Being a first-time mechanical keyboard user, I did not know what to expect. Before using the CB GK-18 (Red Outemu switches version), I had also ordered another cheaper alternative available on Amazon. I would have almost settled for that keyboard but I somehow convinced myself to go for this model. It will forever be the best decision I ever made.
Cosmic-Byte has put in some amazing resources for the development of its budget gaming segment and it shows. Some key highlights after one month of daily usage –

    1. The lower body of the keyboard is metal and the upper plate (just below the keycaps) is texturized plastic. Overall, it seems delightfully sturdy and heavy. Does not give a cheap plastic keyboard feel.

    2. The plastic feet below the keyboard support it very well and provide the desired angle required for typing.

    3. The braided connection cable is flexible yet tough. It is long enough to plug in behind a desk into a PC. I personally, use it with a USB hub and a laptop. Plugged it in one month back, haven’t thought about it since then.

    4. Most people are confused about whether to go for blue or red switches. I went for the red switches as contrary to popular opinion, I do not feel that red switches are limited just for gaming.
Yes, it took some time to get used to the small actuation force, but once I got used to typing on this keyboard, going back to a membrane keyboard is just not possible.
It is true that Outemu switches are probably not the best in the market but they are budget friendly and provide a perfect emulation for first time mechanical keyboard users.

    5. Premium features like ‘per-key RGB’ and ‘all key anti-ghosting’ have also been some passive gamechangers. Cosmic-Byte is also working on releasing regular updates for CB-GK software which lets you customize the lighting and set macros. With the latest update, you can even enter the RGB code of a colour and the keyboard will reflect that.

In conclusion, the CB-GK 18 has been a great mechanical keyboard for a first-time user. At first, I could not see a reason to pay extra just to get some switches under my keys, but those switches do make a lot of difference in both gaming as well as typing. My use case is mostly typing and some casual gaming. This has been my daily driver and has not failed to deliver yet.
A must buy if you manage to get it during a sale. However, if you cannot wait for another sale, just go for it, it is still totally worth it!
